Makkah: Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), has called on the international community to take decisive action against ongoing Israeli violations against the Palestinian people.
His appeal came during a GCC-Egypt joint ministerial meeting in Makkah, stressing the urgent need to address the escalating crisis.
Albudaiwi warned that these violations pose a direct threat to Palestinian identity and rights, undermining regional security and stability. He reaffirmed support for the recent Arab Summit on Palestine in Cairo, which proposed a comprehensive plan for Gaza’s early recovery and reconstruction. This includes deploying international protection forces and organizing a global conference in collaboration with Palestine and the UN.
He strongly rejected any attempts to displace Palestinians from Gaza, insisting on a unified Palestinian state within the framework of a two-state solution.
Meanwhile, Arab nations and human rights organizations have condemned Israel’s blockade of aid to Gaza, calling it a violation of international law. The GCC’s position reflects wider Arab and global efforts to uphold Palestinian rights and achieve lasting peace.
